Hi there;

I've recently made a warrior alt and I've been saving up my talent points in hopes that you guys could give me some tips on which tree is most effective. It took me 4 respecs with this character to get the build right, and I don't really want to spend all that gold on an all too.

Any tips/suggestions ..?

Have you ever played around with the talent tree programs?

That's quite good fun.

I'm the cookie cutter build, 31 arms 20 fury. It's a PvP build mostly, but I can tank instances with a shield and live.

I guess it depends what you want to do with your warrior, do you want to weild a big axe and go nuts or hold a shield and protect others.

Defend others...? ;O Where's the fun in that?! I want to bash things with a sword and split skulls. I mean, being a range spell caster is fun and all, but I'm kinda tired of running away just in case the mob cuts through my tissue paper armour.

I'll play around with the program, see what i can come up with. :D

the above gives the most dps in pve over a sustained period. works best with a fast mainhand and a slightly slower but still quite fast offhand.

For pvp ofcourse the cookie cutter 31/20/0 + reaper is your best bet as it is capable of more burst damage.

Prot talents really aren't relevant for tanking outside of MC etc, in the same way as holy talents arent needed by a priest untill MC etc.

Ironically holy talents aren't that useful in MC (though they are really nice in normal instances)

Our priests are mostly discipline, with imp renew and spiritual healing. (I however am an exception to this rule)

Arms Talents - 31 points

Deflection rank 3/5

Two-Handed Weapon Specialization rank 5/5

-_- If you were presented with two 2handed axes, both were otherwise identical except weapon nr.1 has damage of 102-204, and weapon number 2 has damage of 100-200 and +2% parry. Which would you choose? Yeah, so would prolly any warrior, so switch deflection to 5/5. nub

Booming Voice rank 1/5

This raises the radius of shouts to dangerous proportions (very easy to aggro adds). Strongly suggest improved Demo Shout instead.

It also reveals rogues further away, so it depends on how you play the game. I rarely pve so that's why I did it.

I think I can quite safely claim to have more MC experience than any of you hordies

I never said getting many Holy talents was a good idea, I myself only have 14 points in Holy, and imo that is plenty, however for uBRS and easier you can easily heal without any holy talents at all (or just afk and follow someone, when they stop spam PoH a bit so the damage meters think you are being useful).

Meri, deflection is there as a points sink, not as something you purposefully put points in (unless are going prot, then you would get 5/5, but this is an MS build...)

Also if you really think a tiny increase (from 10 yds to 11 yds) is genuinely going to cause problems then you are using it in the wrong place.

Assuming you're never going to be tanking, then 2 points in 2H weapon spec is going to increase your damage output by 2% all of the time, while 2 points in deflection is only going to reduce incoming damage from frontal melee attacks by 2%. In this case, 2H spec is better.

Anyway, you can't just increase a weapon's base damage range by 2% and say that's a 2% overall damage increase. A better comparison would be a weapon doing 100-200 dmg with +2% parry vs a weapon doing 102-204 dmg with +20 attack power (at level 60).

Ditch 2-handed weapon spec and get Improved Charge and 5 points in Deflection. The damage increase is almost non-excistent for 2 handed specalisation and improved charge makes it possible to use mortal strike almost instantly. It's a must have in pvp and it's awesome in pve. Besides, if you do plan on going to tank sometimes and hey, you gotta get your gear somewhere, the 5% parry is pretty sweet (less damage and more revenge procs).

As for the fury tree, it depends on what you'r going to do. Assuming you're using a big fat 2 hander:
5/5 Cruelty
5/5 Improved Demo Shout (unbridled wrath is useless for twohanders, also mobs will do less damage which means less downtime for you solo or the healer when you tank)
1/1 Piercing howl. Sassy spam skill to slow your attackers.
4/5 Improved battle shout. More damage for you and everyone else at the cost of getting healed a bit. Yes please.
5/5 Enrage. You want this for the big numbers.

It also reveals rogues further away, so it depends on how you play the game. I rarely pve so that's why I did it.

Spamming shouts to reveal rogues isn't really viable from what I experienced. It's not like you have a ton of rage to spend all the time. So the only situation where booming voice comes in handy is in duels because you know he's near you anyway.

Meri has a point though. I used to have 5 points in it and constantly aggroed mobs with demo shout that i thought were far away enough. It's a shitty talent.

If you're going to use deflection as filler, just put the points in imrpoved heroic strike instead as that's the skill you're using with dual wield.
I'd also ditch dual wield spec. Going from 50% to 75% offhand damage isn't really noteworthy, especially since the bulk of your damage is coming from overpower and heroic strike. So I'd put the points in improved execute, improved intercept and 1 in improved berserker rage.

I think 31/5/15 is a very nice build too.
