I tried to watch it, I really did. The clips prior to launch on C4 made it look very promising but I got pissed off very rapidly with the 'flashbacks' - (10 years earlier). I know it builds the story but that sort of thing made me turn off Lost after a couple of episodes.

I reallly hope it improves, I spent the vast majority of it's screen time flippig channels. That said I lack an attention span.

At first i thought the same, but it really does build the story and lets you understand the story more, i've watched both episodes now and i can't wait for next friday!! brilliant!

Love Lost/FlashForward so sounds like my type of thing, will check it out.

There appears to be 6 episodes out already on torrent and 4od doesn't work for me.

Its like Lost, FlashForward, and 24 all rolled into one! Epic!

I'm two episodes in and the constant flashbacks gimmick is starting to annoy me.

2 weeks earlier
1 month earlier
5 years earlier
1 second earlier

I'll try it more though in case the story gets more interesting (I liked Lost).

Also speaking of sci-fi-type series, The Walking Dead (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1520211/) started yesterday and it seems to have potential.

About bloody time they made a series based around zombies. YAY!

Watched the first episode of Walking Dead and it is awesome! Oh My God! I really hope it gets the same following as Lost and 24, we might get good number of series; so long as it doesn't turn out to be aliens involved I'll be happy.

I'm watching both, makes Friday nights worthwhile TV, so I don't have to watch that prancing irish gobshite on BBC1.

Loving this show.

Third episode of Walking Dead was great. You really do get attached to the characters, and even feeling sorry for one or two of the scumbags.

I watched the first episode, really didn't like it.

Pfft! Pfft I say!

Part 4 is available, just got it and will watch it in bed tonight. WOO!

I watched the first episode, really didn't like it.
Get Highschool of the Dead then. Better than I've thought it would be, to be honest.

seen that, is awesome

Bah, watching The Event for the sake of wasting some spare time, otherwise I don't really like it for the fact they wouldn't up the budget to tidy combat scenes and acting up :/ President and Blake are awesome characters. Leila is making me sick with all the "I'm too fragile and emo" acting. :P

Burn Notice/Human Target/Fringe/Dexter/SGU is where it's at!

Hallo to all my lovers :>

I keep trying to watch The Event but it annoys me! '2 weeks earlier' - Feck off! Then every time I switch over to it there's a black guy in a suit talking to a white guy in a suit...doesn't draw me in at all. When they mentioned aliens I thought we'd be getting big feck off ships pewpewing the shit out of Manhatten etc. Maybe in the next series.

You're thinking of V.

This is more like 24.

30-11-2010, 09:49 AM
did they actually cancel V or is it just on a very very long break ? :)

Its back in January.

Uh oh. The next episode of The Event coincides with the Cata release. There will be blood.

edit: nm, they had the foresight to postpone it till February. Cause of Cata.
