Just a heads up. Someone tried to impersonate an officer of the guild tonight hoping we would promote the new alt to officer status. It didnt succeed ofc.

Its not something new but the guy might be trying his luck with other guilds.

Surely, the easiest way to stop that happening is to ask the alt to log on as their main to confirm they are who they say they are? Or a policy to have the main /w the officer to let them know they want their alt to be invited prior to anything else? Randomly inviting a player is almost asking for trouble.

You don't suppose the scammer could just create a new lvl 1 alt for the next scam?

And I think people already know who/what to look for - a low lvl alt (with a name that possibly resembles the name of a officer from the guild) who is whispering them to get invited to the guild and asking officer status.

The scammer chose the name of our GM and just put bank after it. However we knew it was a scam so we just invited him to alt rank(no rights) till he got bored while mocking him in ochat :P
