I was looking at a few things. The word 'CODE' is done in capitals quite a lot on the first post, so I did some messing with that but didn't come up with anything concrete. I checked the image itself, changing the lighting, hue, saturation, etc but that made my eyes bleed and there seems to be no imprint in the image anywhere.

Kinda fun actually, although now I need to go shopping...

A digit is just a unit of measurement, it can mean fingers, numbers or just the length of something.

Goonerr

just for the record

Compact Oxford English Dictionary

digit
/dijit/

• noun 1 any of the numerals from 0 to 9, especially when forming part of a number. 2 a finger or thumb.

also

Definition

The number 345 contains three digits.

Meh, now i wasted some of my prescious time, first looking at the password in his avatar, but it has more than 22 letters (and we have etablished that a digit isnt a letter :) )

Then the wording of CODE and use the CODE to get the CODE, so i even had a look of his older VB and other programming posts to see if stuffs were hidden there :(

I should get the pet for pure effort tbh..

So apparently the jpeg had a rar file "attached" to it, so you can rename the jpeg into .rar and open it reveals a code.txt but it's got a password lock on it.

I tried the 22-digit ascii representation of bolded CODE but it didn't work :P

This was quite fun though, spent about an hour on it before raid. Good job both making it and for whoever it was that broke it!

I tried a MANY different versions of code FIRST THING. Including jumbling the letters in all possible ways. ALL BUT Code!! I can't believe I missed that one. I think I even tried Code.txt. olol
Hitting my head on the desk now... I found the rar 5 minutes after reading first post last night.

Writing the CODE constantly in full caps was just mean.

Another thing I did was ran a dictionary attack on the rar over night. Of course that had "code" too... :|

Ruoste

Well. Here's how it went. Seemed obvious to me that the picture would contain something. It was a compressed jpeg so some very hard to see hidden message in the pic would have been almost surely out of the question.
Then I loaded it into a hex reader and searched for "code". It was at the end (filename Code.txt) and word "Rar!" close by. I quickly compared to a proper rar archive and then just copied the end of the file to a new file.

Tried to decompress. Wants password. hmm. "CODE", "code", "Code.txt", "edoc", "coed" etc. etc.

Hah. Another thing I did was get an animated gif editor and went through the avatar frame by frame. I made a script that created 10800, 7 letter passwords out of it; where there are some letters rotating and turning to *:s... Then tried them all on the rar with another script.

Thanks to Gooner for making this competition , really had fun deciphering the code :)

tho once i had the code i first had to get a new password to SSE cause im more of a forum reader then a writer.
so was kinda exciting and hoping during that time that no-one else got the code and got there first.

And yes it did help beiing in the IT industry with finding the code :)

Nice one Gooner, nicely done. It was odd when I launched the image in Gimp it kinda asked me if I wanted to launch it, which it normally never does with images - spent some time looking at that image and it never twigged.
