From the login screen:

"This Wednesday there will be an extended maintenance to apply Patch 3.2.0. Please note that all European realms will be offline from 03:00 to 11:00, Paris Time (CEST)."

Well its not too bad considering many guilds are still working on the Ulduar hard modes, not to mention Algalon.

retarded to launch it before ending arena season 6, with all the class changes.

Question:

I understand that in order to activate the Trial of the Grand Crusader, someone in that raid group needs to have completed the normal raid at least once. However I thought I heard at one point that Blizzard is only releasing one boss per week. Meaning, that Hard mode will not be available for 5 weeks after the release of 3.2. Can anyone confirm this given that that bit of information was release near the beginning of the PTR, and NOT ONCE SINCE, even in the Q&A was it mentioned?

Blizzard Reply:
Bornakk - Assuming there are no further changes, you are correct.

Kinda relieved about this. Felt a bit rushed to be heading into new hardmodes.

Cyclone has become the dead horse of the server clusters, and they keep trying to beat it back to life

Wouldnt say stormscale/ravencrest/stormreaver is dead

Maintenance extended for Cyclone, no ETA.

I didnt mean 'dead' in terms of population/action/etc, its dead cos its ALWAYS the Cyclone battlegroup/server cluster which has extended maintance..

:)

It's one of the oldest clusters though. Probably old servers, etc

Turiel
05-08-2009, 03:04 PM
Its more to do with the fact that its the largest group in terms of population. I *think* the servers got upgraded, so they're not the old ones, not sure though.

10 years later we MIGHT get online. :D

Just seems odd that its always Cyclone who has extended maintance, while once they finally get stuff online we hardly notice any improvements..

Yes we're an old BG and yes we're big but we have had more extended maintances (lolz server upgrades?) than any other BG, still we keep getting one extended maintance after the other...

And yes Im frustrated that I cannot play :) Been off for about a month now and I really want to give it another try now hehe

If one of the problems is that Cyclone is too big, why don't they just make it smaller?! The message stated that the delay was part of ongoing instance server issues - if that's the case, why didn't they tell us that we'd be having extended, extended maintenance previously?!

Also, isn't it odd how the official forums have to undergo maintenance when the biggest battlegroup is offline indefinitely...?

I noticed how Magtheridon is always up on time...so Ensidia can get their world firsts.

Well, Cyclone is big for a reason. Stormscale. And when they stopped transfers to Stormscale, the other realms (including Shadowsong) filled up. If you take some realms out of Cyclone, then you will have a lot of pissed off people who paid specifically to be in Cyclone. You'd have to offer free transfers, with the end result that Cyclone would still be the biggest group.

The forums are specifically taken offline during patch day because the servers can't handle the load. Indeed, they're even offline during scheduled maintenance.

But I was reading the forums at lunchtime. It's only since the extended maintenance was implemented that the forums went down.

Vegelus

And most players are at work at lunchtime, where only few can play (if servers were up). So it wasn't needed to take forums off.

They came up later so hence the forums did not need to be closed until the servers went up.

Servers are expected up after 20:00. There goes the days raids tbh.

valid reason ... but patchday = don't set a fixed time for raids - just wing it when server is online again and expect raid encounters to be bugged :)

...oh and always be prepared for addon-hell :)
