Still dont know why it's a bad idea to duel wield while tanking, but I found a great thread about duel wielding while dpsing

http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=7120403769&sid=1

Acording to this player, she got way more dps from a slow mainhand+fast offhand than another DK with 2H, with roughly the same stats. You would think unholy presence is the best stance because of the haste buff, but aparently blood presence is better. Build needs to be hybrid, depending very little on melee attacks.

See her thread to see more info

Here's a build I tweaked a bit, for her build just see the thread.

Edit: Reason for not duel wielding while tanking is that the more you hit, the bigger chance there is for the boss to parry your attack and counterattack it. Meaning increased dmg on you

Wrong, all your Main Hand strikes will be Rune Strikes while tanking which cannot be parried(dodged, or blocked) that just leaves the OH hits and lets face it even with a quick OH you wont be hitting more then a Warrior tank does and they dont get parry-gibbed either.

I've tried both styles (2h and DW tanking) and so far I'm sticking with DW tanking simply for better stats from 2 tanking 1 handers. On top of everything my threat is more steady aswell.

parry gib as a dual weild DK is a myth and a bad one at that, do whatever playstyle you prefer

I wield duels as weapons all the time.

There are no dual-wielding specs that generate comparable threat to 2-hand tanking while retaining other essential tanking talents. There are also serious parry-hasting concerns that currently render DW tanking inferior to 2H tanking. This is subject to further study of course.

Of course. Other peoples experience > personal. You should know that. People on mmo-champ swear unholy is better dps but i destroy unholy in fights that matter.... (No trash doesnt matter... No it doesn't... Doesn't.... No :()

No, it must not be true. However, it seems like the authors on Elitistjerk very often back their arguments by facts.

If you continue down the thread you can see that the discussion and maths calculated favors 2 hander in front of dual wielding simply because the need of stacking expertise as dualwielder to get past parrycap.

But as the first OP says, it's a subject for further study. I just wanted to put some eyes on the thread wich is very informative.

Yeah well as it says its subject to more study and so far all the people that did try it did not encounter this so called parrygibbing and if you add to that , that even while DW tanking you should not be hitting more then a warrior does while tanking then to me it seems quite clear.

Also Pie-maniac Duissboi I am not comparing EJ to MMO here :P cause let's face it MMO-C is filled with retards who believe anything they hear or read no matter the source.

ive tried myself 2h or dw tankin and 2h tankin gives you way more threat then dw does and... is the extra threat needed? or are you comfortably above the DPS?
