It looks good, except that not having imp thunderclap is really silly. Get it.

Edited with Imp clap :smt035

I'm considering trying out speccing for improved cleave. I'm using it * a lot* in 5 mans, and the only real thing I would have to sacrifice is impale (which is nice too, btw).

Choices, choices!

24-11-2008, 11:14 AM
Don't know, I'd probably still stay with Impale, as at least tankspot says that using single target skills on different targets is still better than cleave (on the other side, I'm cleaving too so meh).
Your spec would be something like that then?
With last point in? Piercing Howl/Imp. HS/Imp. Charge/something else?

Gag order is a must have with the 10% to Shield Slam. Otherwise, yeh.

The build I've been working towards while levelling (79 now), is this:

As long as I can get away with missing a few mitigation talents, this looks good for me. Did 1150 dps tanking Loken last night. That made me a bit happy in the pants.

Feck, forgot about Gag Order - yea, it's a must have.

improved spell reflection rocks like hell for 5 mans, i dont know if bosses' techs can be reflected, but having the ability to put spell reflect on your team mates against random casts is pro.

thinking to drop crit for it, like THIS (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=Li0h0bZhhZVItrr0zidIzsGo)

Incite > Cruelty.
And no One-Handed Weapon Spec is bad.
Puncture is better thing to remove when points are needed.

30-11-2008, 01:43 PM
One-handed weapon spec is not stacking with prot Enrage from Imp Defensive Stance... So it's like 5 talent points wasted?

30-11-2008, 02:34 PM
I thought it does stack? Why doesn't it?

30-11-2008, 03:02 PM
It does stack.

30-11-2008, 10:57 PM
Last time I checked it had your damage set to 110% just like the Enrage effects. Guess what? Blizzard decided it's not wise to allow Enrages stack with anything else warrior got (Deathwish keke).
Later: Ok I couldn't just go to sleep after these bold statements and had to check this out:
and made clear they allow Enrage stack with other damage increases now but Enrages themselves are similar effects so override each other :( Also Deathwish prevents Enrage effects from affecting you so you have to pop Enrage first o.O
But stacking stuff r funz and big numbers approved:

Did 6 bosses in Naxx last night with:

Basically solo tanking everything. For now, i've no reason to change a single point, sacrificing some avoidance for threat/DPS. (Seeing 4k AP in my sheet was something new for me when tanking!)
In a 10 man situation, I'm basically one of the DPSsers, so why not max that out as long as it's survivable.

So anyone on SSG using this (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Darkspear&n=Veneretio) build? Seems like wonder kid till deep wounds nerf (and there was a blue stating that they'll compensate that one for prots).

13-01-2009, 03:08 PM
I thought they wouldn't compensate for the deep wound nerf for prot as its not needed for prot, something to that effect :3

13-01-2009, 03:15 PM
Maybe, I don't remember now. And cba to look on mmo-champs (or wherever else) -.-.

13-01-2009, 03:18 PM
Ghostcrawler this nerf will hurt most warrior tanks too.
It will hurt a lot of them, though honestly their dps seems pretty decent and nobody is having trouble on threat. We will compensate Prot if we need to. Deep Wounds should not be a "mandatory" talent for Prot, though honestly this conversation did not start because of Prot.

ta da

13-01-2009, 03:23 PM
Well, there is that silly "we will compensate prot if..." at least.

13-01-2009, 04:29 PM
But do you really think it will be? I don't see the nerf of Deep Wounds is going to impact that heavily on the prot builds that use it.
