I did this spec in about 60 seconds, so feel free to pick it apart.

This is my first hunter and so I am still learning. At level 70 I am intending to be a PvPer with this character.

Would greatly appreciate any talent help, gear recommendations, pet recommendations etc.

Thanks in advance.

Tim

*gasp* a post in the hunter forum. *panic*

I thought this part of the forum had died of old age. :P

What level is your hunter currently ? If you are still around level 60 get a boar in eastern plague lands.

As for talents ... for solo leveling and PvE beastmaster is still king (unless you are the lone survival hunter in the raid).

For PvP you can probably do some valid Marksman builds with Scatter Shot and Silencing Shot.
You may want to improve Concussive Shot and Stings via the corresponding talents for that though.

Improved Hunters Mark is probably meh in PvP as is Combat Experience (meh in PvE too I'd say)

Other talent points would depend on the type of PvP we are talking about
(in battle ground Improved Multi Shot is nice ... in arena games it might break the crowd control)

For PvP build look here:

PvE - Like Timothy said - typical 41/20/0 Beastmaster will be the best one in most of cases.

A little background info which I guess I should have mentioned.

She is currently at almost 65 (about ten minutes of grind kills).
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Shadowsong&n=Mintello

She has pretty much rested XP full. I intend to get to about 68 and then grind out the levels as I want as much gold at end game to get my Epic Flyer as soon as poss. Then it's on to rep grinding to get the PvP Blues, following that, I will attempt to PvP in BG's and possibly Arenas.

Didn't want to do it on the mage, more of a PvP char for me.

Going for the new rep based PvP blues in 2.4 sounds like a valid plan for your yet to hit 70 char.
Do some minor AV early on for Gladiator's Heavy Crossbow (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28294) and a bit of arena for Vengeful Gladiator's Waraxe (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34014) perhaps.

How about the talent build, I kinda want some advice in that area mainly. :)

Though suggestions so far will be taken on board of course.

this is what I'm using, mainly for 2v2 and 3v3.

About the MM tree, improved stings (with scorpid pet) / scatter shot / silence shot is a must, I took improved arcane shot after 2.3 cause of the dispell.

About survival tree, hawk eye and humanoid slaying seems pretty obvious , so as 5 points in survivalist and detterence. I got 1 point in clever traps which is mainly for 3v3/5v5 frost trap kiting , this way I can keep a frost trap down without any downtime. And trap mastery, well I got sick of people resisting my freezing traps :)

Would probably pick something like this if I had a hunter that just turned 70 and is going to do a lot of bg's http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/hunter/talents.html?0000000000000000000004505001055013020 135103303020510300000000000
