Scary thing is everyone will look the same, accept those with better. Can probably suppliment some of my gear with some of it, plus some healing legs wouldn't go amiss.

Thanks for the links :)

Firstly blizzard makes new cloak only possible to get from 60 heroic marks than gives PvP gear to buy from PvE factions.
They should give back instead old, cheap honor pvp sets.

Well, yes. They've specifically stated they want PvPers to do the PvE content, and the PvErs to do the PvP content. You'll see more of this as they continue to encourage it - you can have 90% of what you need from doing either PvP or PvE, but if you want to be the 'best' (or at least, have the best gear) you need to do everything.

Was that aimed at my pve gear from pvp comment? Cause I cant see them items being much good as an end game pve starter kit really

Flawless

And this stuff is good at "end game" pvp? KK.

Its for getting you started, only thing PvP players lack for early pve is a tanking set, and that isn 't going to happen.

Erm no you can't as 1 part is only available from a horde vendor at the mo. It's been reported from all accounts.

Also just to add there maybe a mix up with what set look's like what. The war set is infact the pally set from what i have read and seen. Hey it's the PTR and everyone is data farming they could all end up pink then you will know the plight of the paladin.

It was discussed and rumours abound

But will these be available for cash or honour?

Vegelus

It's "pvp starter kit" from "pve reputation factions", so why it would be avaible for honor?

Ye, I know - Blizzard -.-

I know raiders who have had to get PVP trinket, sta (pvp) gear, etc.

There's no real pve starter kit from pvp vendors, trinkets are hardly the same kinda thing xP

Would be nice if you could hand in, say, 5 of each bg token (so 20 tokens) and get an heroic badge or something.

I don't mind people being able to get gear from pvp\tokens, but should be possible to get them either way.

As for welfare epics, I could see the problem if you could get warglaives via heroics or pvp. As items such as those show you've been to and killed a particular raid boss, but I dont really mind someone getting something similar via other means (though, less impressive to look at).

Someone who just reached level 70 would find it hard to begin raiding if it weren't for the other means of getting gear. The same way as joining pvp as soon as you reach 70 sucks because you're out-geared completely.

Raiding is for fun, and it's nice to get teh uber gear and stuff. But at the cost of making it difficult for anyone else to have fun with you.... meh.

Q: Will the ratings requirements be removed on the s3 weapons and shoulders next season?

A: No, and this is new information as far as I'm aware, but the ratings will remain, however they will likely be lowered. Previously we had stated that the ratings would only apply to the current season's items, but that's no longer the current thinking or plans. As it stands currently the rating requirements will remain, but they'll be lowered as the new season's items are introduced.
Fuckers.

While my first reaction was "haha", I'm actually not too happy about this. Gearing up alts sucks in this BG. From 1600 and up I keep running into full S3 geared teams. And not all of them just started a team. Some are just rubbish from other BGs, but outgearing you so much you can't beat them.

While I see your point, this is only for weapons and shoulders - both of which will have an S2 option available from honor.

Chances are they'll drop the s3 requirement by around 200 rating or so - it shouldn't actually be too difficult to get a 1650 rated team unless the weapon is the first upgrade you're actually going for.

same here my 3v3 is at 1650 and i only meet full S3,that goes also for my 2v2 we only meet full S3 at 1750/1850 pretty ridilous.

Kael'thas Junior drops a nice epic resilience cloak. (I got it on the PTR).

And I for one, like the looks on this. I'll be using it along with my PvE resilience epics, and my Vindicator's stuff.
It's very nice for PvP starting, for us who didden't care to do arena for 150 points / week the past year :p

If you had done arena for past year there is no way in the end you (theoriticaly) could have sucked as much as on the begining.

You would be surprised :) The expression 'Wellfare epics' was made for a reason.

Iknow entire realms who persist of such players. They'll have 4/5 vengefull at some point, you just can't buy shoulders at 1500 rating :p And they'll be in the forums, crying about how hard 2000 rating is to get.

I'd loose a lot of faith in mankind if people have 833 rated 2v2 teams.

Better question, why does it having rating requirement to prevent it being superior choice over pve drops, yet other items *cough*hunter axe*cough* do not. Something that's bothered me all season.

According to Drysc, when Season 4 hits, S3 weapons and shoulders will require ratings 1800 and 1950, respectively. :(

Slicer
19-03-2008, 11:47 PM
I am greatly amused by this.

Bleetman
20-03-2008, 03:51 AM
Same, but I feel for entirely different reasons. Namely, the fact that newly formed teams and classes that are already pigeon-holed into very specific setups in order to break even against flavour of the season teams now get to deal with that *and* the added bonus that they'll be fighting people with weapons that are two seasons out of date.

And they wanted WoW to be an E-sport, closing any gear gap to a minimum. Hilarious.

It would also be personally easier to stomach if Blizzard saw fit to not churn out an endless stream of paladin shoulder pieces that look like bollocks.

But then, this is obviously just a way of shortening the arena queues by driving masses of people away. Cunning!

Chou

Like people who can achieve those ratings are going to want to waste their points on Season 3 and not try to push an extra 50 points. Ridiculous. It should have been a drop of 100 atleast.

Bleetman
20-03-2008, 02:42 PM
The theory is that the season 4 stuff will require a higher rating still (such as, say, 2400 or so forth). But it's still pretty silly, yes. I don't imagine anyone who can't currently obtain them will be able to do so next season. Which is sort of the whole point of lowering the rating - to make them more obtainable as they become second best.

Stim

Like... thats all, there's no whole new set.

Bleetman
28-03-2008, 02:44 PM
It's not season 4 for ages, they were presumably added as a preview. Much like the rest of the S4 retri set.

There were already concerns that four T6+four arena set would outweigh the pvp rewards, I can't see them making that worse by not adding any new honour parts. Besides, there were vindicator's scaled parts. Missed out?

Hezilin
29-03-2008, 12:23 PM
