This is in response to a discussion a few days/weeks ago about why alliance have it easier in AV. It's a repost from the US forums, but i've copied and pasted it here because of the annoying WoW Interceptor. Sorry that I haven't hotlinked.

The Entrance

Easily open space that allows Alliance to get in 3 different ways.

Once Inside

These are our guards, you probably don't know since you can easily run by them all, but here they are:

Bypass everything, easily, no problem:

Entrance to our RH:

The only two guards Alliance worry about:

Our tower protection:

Moving to RH and caping towers:

The RH area:

The Alliance Rush

Bypassing even at level 64:

Three ways in, pick your way:

Alliance side of things

The Bridge:

If you make it:

Keep trying:

Two way attacks:

So you made it, NOT:

Why not?:

Should help clear a couple of things up.

What exactly are we discussing? This is just to show skeptical alliance some visual evidence of why Horde has a much more difficult time in AV.

I'm not trying to whine or make things worse, it's just some info that I found useful that I thought i'd post ;/

Apparently once again about why Horde has a much more difficult time in AV, to quote yourself.

Well, you must know by now already that people who actually have done some amount of AV, do know about these things already. After all, they are the ones using those exactly same "tricks" shown in the pictures. And most of the stuff has been going on for ages.

All I'm saying that by now we all know how badly the horde base is are built, we know about the exploiting as they're not a exception but a rule nowadays, we know about many entries, the difference between towers and bunkers, the difference between the archers, the difference in amount of guards who will agro and yeah there's that damn bottleneck bridge leading to alliance base.

But then again, maybe someone who haven't been in AV will read this and these pictures will raise his/her awareness about the matter.

And thats my aim, didn't think there was any harm in posting it here ;p

edit: I misread that as "doesn't usually play AV". Did i just get sarcasm'd?

Horde learnt to just do premade AV's now which makes the reasons null and void. Have no idea if horde face many alliance Pre's as i dont play horde side, but last night 6/6 AV's were premades :(

Horde have it harder if you let alliance get to your base. But... you can prevent them from getting there in sufficient numbers if you block them at Iceblood. The few horde teams in Cyclone I see that do this have won every match, since the average alliance team never manages to get past the blockade. Gathering as a group before attacking is too much to ask, it seems.

I do understand that it's next to impossible to convince people to stay and defend IB though, equally difficult to prevent people from trying to kill Galvanger when he's got 5-10 hordies helping him out. Most of the team sticks to their usual routine, even when the enemy does something different.

Apparently horde in 51-60 dont have this problems in AV.
Or at least i havent won a game in that bracket in the last 2 years (as allie)

The bridge isn't the only way in, you can jump up behind where the stfu i got [alterac ram hide] person is. Also all they need is to make a way so summons are necessary since horde's summon > alliance, which was the deciding factor in a lot of games :P

Wasn't that fixed in one point or has someone discovered another route?

Not 100% sure about the fixing part, correct me if I'm wrong please.

It only takes a few jumps round a tiny little mountain, even if you cant jump up directly it doesn't take more than a few seconds.

Well, the only thing I can say about this is... dwarven builders > Orcish builders.

It hasn't been fixed, but I don't really count a wall-jumping exploit as a second path to the base.

(There's also one to get around the initial tower in the horde base... a friendly undead decided to show me one day.)

No Dun Baldar vendor will attack unless provoked. Hell, not even the guy at the bridge will. You can see as much in this shot you posted:

http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/5319/av13xd8.jpg

Tauren's right next to him and he's stood where he always is. Hmm.

The 70 elite I assume to be the stormpike ram commander. His aggro radius is practically none existant, you're not going to be pulling him out unless you're dumb enough to walk into his stable and start hitting him.
The guards patrolling the road up to the stormpike graveyard are easy enough to skip, too. There's two routes to the graveyard apart from the road.

Dun Baldar's bunkers are better placed though, not something I've ever claimed otherwise.
