Blizzard said there would be a range of penalties including honor loss, bans and removal of honor gear already bought IIRC.

I hope they throw the book at him.

EDIT: I was right:

woot, at last all that afk reporting is paying off. tbh if you get caught they should remove everything earnt by doing pvp. a ban does nothing.

They are, pretty much:

Starting immediately, we will be issuing warnings and penalties, including suspensions and the removal of Honor points and recently acquired Honor rewards, for non-participation in Battleground games.

About the only thing people haven't seen removed yet is the BG tokens.

Your good-for-nothing dickhead friend's honor should be evenly distributed among the people who earned it for him whilst he was doing the AFK dance.

Your good-for-nothing dickhead friend's body should be dismembered and sold for organ transplants, with the money from the proceeds evenly distributed among the people who earned honor for him whilst he was doing the AFK dance.
Forsaken edition.

As far as I heard it, you will start to loose items and honor first after you have been reported multiple times for leeching. The ban was sort of a warning, then if it is repeated more serious punishment will be meted out.

How long was his account suspended, hours, days, weeks or months ?

And yea as others said, I guess the harsher punishments (gear, honor and whatnot removal + possible ban), wont get applied untill you have a certain amount of reports or actual suspensions
