Y'Elo thar!

I'm currently PvP'ing alot, 2v2 with a resto shammy, and im wondering about what spec to use :S.

I've been BM since i started my hunter, and i've never really learned the class in particular.

This is the spec i figured would be best, but as i said, i don't really know much about it. Hope someone could gimme some feedback:

I wouldn't go deep survival for PvP, but rather deep Marks. Whilst Wyvern sting is nice, a well timed silencing shot can be much more devastating and you'll hit much harder in general too. Something like:

Though, I hasten to add, I haven't actually leveled a hunter to 70 yet (only to around level 47), so this is just an educated guess at a decent build. Might need to be played with :)

FWIW, when playing with my mage, deep MM hunters are the most annoying hunters I tend to face. BM hunters second (and only when bestial wrath is available to them) and Survival last. Of course, it depends on the player too. But, in general, those are my own personal views on their difficulty to fight.

If You will find any reason for that 1 point in Imp AoTH and in Imp Arcane shot, while not taking GfTT for example, then why not.

Oh wait ;).

this is what I'm using, mainly for 2v2 and 3v3.

About the MM tree, improved stings (with scorpid pet) / scatter shot / silence shot is a must, I took improved arcane shot after 2.3 cause of the dispell.

About survival tree, hawk eye and humanoid slaying seems pretty obvious , so as 5 points in survivalist and detterence. I got 1 point in clever traps which is mainly for 3v3/5v5 frost trap kiting , this way I can keep a frost trap down without any downtime. And trap mastery, well I got sick of people resisting my freezing traps :)

Before you ask about speccs you should also give a hint on how your current gear is like :P I'dd say go for deep MM specc with 18 points or so into Survival(imp traps, imp Wing Clip and Savage Strikes is good PvP talents), but if you got 650+ unbuffed agi a deeoer surv specc might serve you good.
Oh yeah btw never use 2 points in Trap Mastery, the second one will not make any difference if you don't wanna trap something at lvl 73.
Possible speccs:

I would go for http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=cZE0fREz0xotcbbGpc
But it comes down to what kind of PvP you do of course.
I am in a 3v3 team and we try to keep CC on one or more targets and to drain/interrupt the healer if we can't nuke him

Just a question to the guys who are really experienced hunters - I'll mainly be PvPing on mine with an MM/Surv spec which is all fine, just wanted to ask the questions:

Is picking up Barrage/Imp Barrage much better than Ranged Weapon Specialisation and Combat Experience?

Also, is 1/2 Clever Traps worth dropping 1 point in surefooted?

Meta Gems. I currently have a Powerful Earthstorm Diamond sat in the bank, would an Enigmatic Earthstorm Diamond suit the hunter playstyle better?

I'm currently running with:

So any advice would be welcome.

I'd give you a sensible answer but I've fallen off my seat since you've rolled a hunter :)

Shurks!! :)

Come back later and give me some pointers - in the end I did go for Barrage/Imp Barrage....to be precise:

(I had a twink hunter for ages but decided it would be fun to get him to 70 and while I have a PvE 41/20 (yawn) spec this is the one I am unsure about).

This tbh.
