Levelling a rog, combat atm.

Is there any builds that are good for raid dps aswell as PVP?

i know mutilate is good in pvp but is it any good for raiding?

Because combat is wank in pvp.

EDIT: i have been informed that i need to respec if i want to be best at either pvp / raiding.

How bad is Mutilate for PvE?

If there would be, why would the other trees exist?

combat swords :)

Combat swords has basically become our all round tree...

It rapes raid damage so much it's not even funny, whilst being around joint top spec for arenas (admittedly maces do still beat swords for arenas but it's a fairly big damage drop for raiding). Mutilate really does suck for raiding, from what I've heard said it's good for arenas but I tried it and found myself hating it within about 10 minutes of playing with low damage compared to my swords.

So... yeah, combat swords.

Combat Swords is the best all-round, and its easier to gear for.

Maces does pwn but its harder to get decent weapons unless you're a blacksmith and prepared to do arena (second place to Swords in DPS tho)

41/20 Mutilate isn't an awful build for either but with poison-immune mobs it falls flat on its face so its PvE utility is somewhat limited.....in Arena its fine for burst damage and CP generation but more and more Arena is about sustained DPS and the non-positional requirement of Swords, along with the higher tier combat talents makes it far more effective.

Something like http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fhebotZGcVobVzxMGot for PvE DPS and if you can be bothered to respec maybe something like this if you have to get riposte (not many people do ofc given "noes, I am hanging onto my weapon" talents/chains...) http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fhebotZGzEzbVzx0uot

Well i was planning on crafting the Drakefist hammer and i was going to try to get the Blackout Truncheon from SL... Wise or unwise?

These were just options.

if i went swords id be looking at the vindicators brand...

Drakefist/Blackout are a very good pair of Maces tbh, the +haste (regardless of changes) is still a nice DPS boost, and of course you can take the somewhat awesome mace spec for PvP.
You'll be a bit behind in PvE DPS but you knew that ...and If you're a Blacksmith, getting Vindicators and Blazefury would be an option, although believe it or not Latro's is still an immense OH due to the speed....

Basically, its personal preference tbh - Maces win out for PvP simply due to the Stun Proc, Swords are awesome for PvE...and both can perform in either setting quite happily....

Swords are almost certainly cooler looking however :-)

You probably won't regret it :D

What happened to the days when Mutilate was only slightly behind Combat Daggers for top PVE damage :P

41/20 ain't that bad for raid dps. Unless you're fighting a poison immune mob (ssc and tk level), then you're fucked.

What he said.

Its also a beatch on fights where you struggle to get position, or if the tanks hates you and moves the mob around a lot.
