View Full Version : No clue what talentbuild.

Hai 2 U ppl !

As written down in the subject, I have no clue how to spec because weapon expertise got f*****. I'm a daggerrogue, and I only do PVE. (well, sometimes PVP, but not enough to make it worthwhile to spec Subtlety)

I got 3 builds in mind that would work with raiding.

We still have the good old fashion 15/31/5, but with the weapon expertise that doesn't work anymore like we want it, it means we have more sucky fillers that might be spended on a better place. Adrenaline rush, daggertalents, blade flurry, just the way I liked it. I'm one of those few stubborn fools that stick with backstab even though no Perdition's Blade or Dragonfang Blade wants to drop. (8 months and counting for Perdition.)

Atleast not many sucky fillers, but no Adrenaline Rush.
But faster vanish is nice.

5% less crit because you don't get the daggertalent -and- no adrenaline rush, but 1% more damage on most mobs, more damage with poisons, and better heals on you.

I'm not happy with any 3 of them to be honost, but wich one would suit me best for maximum raiddamage? I think I should stick with 15/31/5 myself, but any advice would be great.

For some info about my char, no talents:
- +9 to hit on gear (soon to be more.. If Bloodfang Chest is going to drop)
- 1000+ attack power
- 25% crit
- daggerrogue that refuses to respec to swords/fists/maces. :P
- aggromachine and because of that; self proclaimed offtank.

Anyone here that can help me with a decent build or advice?
Thanks in advance :)

And ofc. Mutilate is an option too, 4*/*/*. (prolly 46/0/5).

Anyone tested it?

I've been Mutilate for the last few days (41/0/10) after coming from 31/8/12.

The combo point generation is excellent, but you do notice a drop in direct damage - in PvE at least. I haven't been running Damage Meters since the patch since my AV thinks there's something suspect about the zip file, so I don't have any figures on whether the extra Ruptures, Evis, etc make up for it. More control though.

I've got a Perd's and a CHT though, so the damage is still far from awful. And in the arena practice fights I've been doing, the ability to generate so many CP is proving very, very nice indeed. I'm no pro PvPer, far from it, but I'd recommend speccing it to try it out at the very least.

Not going for a HW dagger with the new changes Kraz? It's a fair bit better than Perd :P

Is nice for raiding :)

Your first one is very nice aswell.

Very funny Abbe. Perdition still hasn't dropped for us. >(

But thanks for the replies guys, I chose to respec for Mutilate.
Even though the talent doesn't reveal it, the damageoutput is very very nice. I topped some bosses in BWL with damage... and that's a fang of the faceless / corehound tooth combi versus Vis'Kag's (all the other whimps are swordrogues. Pff. ;) )

Now need to get some HW-daggers!

I just respan my old combat swords build with the new trees.

The only change was to drop the points I had in Weapon Expertise.

Not too impressed with the new trees TBH, at least not until they swap ISnD with IBS.

I actually have the same problem. I really dont know how shall i spec, since its my alt char. Maybe some of you fulltime rogues could give me some advices.

First im not sure between dagger or sword spec. But i think i will keep the sword spec until i got a nice dagger for my offhand.

Sword spec (http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/rogue/talents.html?3050201050000000000003250552100000150 023010000000000000000000000000)
Dagger spec (http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/rogue/talents.html?0050230050000000000002053052000500100 000000001522000300000000000000)

Maybe someone can tell me if i lack on essential stuff. Its mostly a PvE char, im not doing much PvP with him anymore.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with Weapon Expertise any more. Since the weapon skill nerf, it just isn't worth the points. Aside from that, your sword build looks like a decent basis. I'd be tempted to put points into DW Spec, though.

Your second build seems to be a mix of PvE and PvP. If you're going to purely PvE, then you can afford to get rid of Improved Ambush, Elusiveness and MoD in favour of something like 15/31/5 which is a raiding dagger build. Either way, I'd make sure you have Relentless Strikes since it's such a significant energy refunder, and I'd ditch Sleight of Hand - once you get used to your aggro output you don't need the extra feint addition.

There's always the classic 31/8/12 or 30/8/13 if you want a good mix of PvE and PvP without going full Mutilate, though.
