The talents and spells are out.

I'm probably looking at something like this if I decide to stay pure holy.

Though not sure on the viability behind a mass renew yet. I hardly use PoH at the moment.

Binding Heal looks like a nice PvP heal finally.

Prayer of Mending looks like the best of the lot.

Shadow Word: Death sounds fun. Seems a bit weak for an Execute type spell though. 664dmg at lvl 70!

And AE dispel???? Bye, bye decursive i think. Edit: Just read its other effect, seems nice for PvP too.

One thing to keep in mind:

In BC, all ranks trainable below level 40 will get a reduced bonus from +healing gear and effects (right now, the threshold is level 20). Therefore, GH1 is the new Heal2. :(

(My build? Discipline up to Misery and Shadow up to Improved Weaving. +10% spell damage for the entire raid is nifty) .

My new build is 40 Frost, 21 Arcane.

These new talents are the final confirmation that priest is never going to be the class I want it to be.

There's just so little there that makes me excited about choosing one spec over another.

Even though they might get tweaked I just don't see them changing enough to make healing interesting or to allow for raid specs with PvP / soloing potential.

Here comes the new healbot, same as the old healbot.

Aye, I kind of aggree Albiona, I'll probably be speccing Shadow in BC to lvl up, but more than likely I'll be sticking to my Rogue instead when BC hits, although if people do see the potential of a shadow priest in raids (since SW looks even better now), then I may still be tempted to stay on my priest :-)

I don't see it tbh (and that after playing shadowpriest up to Chromaggus myself)

2 reasons:
Shadow damage scales horribly bad. When you just hit 60 it's all nice and dandy, but when everyone has +400 spelldamage you will be the one that severely lacks damage.
And offcourse mana regeneration is a huge issue, and will still be.

So.. holy for me..

Since I'll probbaly be levelling in instances anyway, I'll stick to something close as Thorbadin's:

Aye, I agree Beatus, it does scale horrably, My preist has a little over 300+ Damage atm and is left is the dust with the other casters with similar gear, when farming I also find that my holy damage (when holy specced) seems to keep up just as well. That been said, I still see Shadow priests as a utility class as opposed to a DPS class, placed in a rogue group the VE is nice, and now with imp SW we give an extra 5% more damage to the mages, so having 1 shadow priest may not be entirely bad, especially since they now have thier heal they can do in shadow form.

The other possability I see is that if they are changing the way heals scale in the expansion pack (meaning we will be using the higher rank heals)m, then maybe having a shadowpriest in the MT group could be handy to keep the tank topped up while the priests try to take advantage of the 5 secong rule, I still think that ofcourse only 1 shadowpriest tops should be in a raid group, and since we don't quite know what the new instances will be like its hard to say exactly what speccs people should choose for sure :-)
