I've come up with this build for soul link... but I've never tried before and is any pointers I could get from people that have experience? Also say you summoned a VW in BG's and used DS and then you died, would you get the VW back our would you get the imp?

Get full fel stamina, fuck the improved demon talents (you should use a felhunter for bg's anyhow), get suppression instead of devastation. And you'd get the VW back, yes.

I'd most likely go with something like this. (http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/warlock/talents.html?2500200000000000020500401525010510055 0000100000000)

Might have some flaws, but it suits me quite well, at least.

Max Fel Stamina instead of the VW / Succy Upgrades. Last point?Doesn´t really matter, I usually put it into Improved Enslave, for the odd times that I used Infernal. Everything else looks fine, pretty much how I set up SL build myself

Also good advice. SL is fucking boring and way too imba (omg fear fear dot dot death coil /point /laugh /yawn).

Do spec SL. Every time you do it little Legends cry.

SL becomes imba when you can round up 500+ damage and plenty of stamina. And it´s fun, at least I always felt it was for me. To each their own

Well it can't really but that much of a difference from SM/Ruin as far as i can think for now, can it? (Apart from the being imba part)

It´s quite different really, SL and Destroction build play very different, even SM / Ruin does not compare. Generally, destro is the best BG´s build. SL would be better if there was any world PVP, but like that, going Destro is the best option. Or SL if you just prefer the playstyle

I was destro for ages before I went MD/ruin for raid purposes.
I'm back to destro for now (I missed conflag too much).
Destro is a better, not to mention more fun, all round build for BG's but generally a 1v1 against another (good) lock who is soul link will be very difficult.
Not only because of soul link but the added resist rates because of felhunter buff.
I've also noticed that about 60-70% of alliance locks are soul link these days. Dunno why, it's the most boring build imo.

I know about destruction, been specing up to 7/9/35 since level 10, but then changed to SM/Ruin and my gear isn't good for a destruction build atm so i've been trying to make myself go to soul link, I just wonder is there much of a difference in "fun" between SM/Ruin and some sort of soul link build.

Have you tried some odd hybrid with only 21 points Demo and the rest freely spent?
Fel Stamina(The DS Buff) is wicked when it comes to soloing. Something like this:

And Dan, ever heard of Banish?

Try it, only costs a respecc, thats how I found out what I like most, trying every specc out there and usually swicthing every month or two to keep the game fun

Good luck banishing a felhunter with 300 resists across the board.

Exactly

I tried that in a duel once just to find out if it even was possible ... now I don't think the felhunter had 300 resists (only shadowresist works against banish, right?) just 220ish but it still took up to 7-8 banishes to get rid of it sometimes.

Nightfall, 3/5 demonic embrace and conflagrate.. my favorite so far, soul link gimped the crits and general dps too much for my taste..

SL...

Something about it reminds me of BM hunters tbh, though it´s without doubt *the* pve spec..

The absolutely coolest thing about warlocks (besides the demons theme and sucking up peoples soul and all the likes) is the amount of viable builds that can be used. SL, Destro, SM /Ruin, SM / DS, DP, MD /ruin. All fun and playable, PVE and PVP alike. Love how well balanced the class has become. Few minor fixes to Affliction tree and retard shit like improved firestone and the warlock class is *done* as it is right now

So, play around, try to find out what you enjoy most, or do as I do, switch speccs often for shit and giggles!

Yeah, seeing you changing builds so often made me envious. I hope Rogues get more viable builds during the revamp.

Vigor, prep daggers, hemo, combat + cold blood, full combat, combat daggers, premed... what'd I miss?

In think in some way rogues and warlocks are both among the lucky classes that can both spec and gear up for both PvE and PvP at the same time.. makes tanks and healbots cry ;)

It's the price you pay for being capable of excelling at several roles.

spec dark pact often?

Dark pact is a viable build. Whether or not I like it is irrelevant.

Premed is shit thou:l

But yeah, we arent shafted regarding builds, quite a few good ones.

Ashborn
18-05-2006, 03:03 PM
Yet I've seen rogues swear by it. Whether or not it is shit is a discussion for a rogue forum.

oh damn you ashen, you made me want to log in and try all those builds:P

Still, I think warlocks have more different play styles than rogues.
And you don't need two weapons to make half of available builds viable.
