Although I may move points from Imp CoC to Arcane subtlety (but dev talking about moving some aggro reduction into fire/frost so will wait and see)

Bah, hate that they changed the prereq to shatter from frostbite to imp.nova. Was excellent as it was in my mind, at least they could have put some other better talent as prereq. Much harder making a nice build I want now.

This or something similar is what I will probably use. Some variations might be had when I finally can make a char on the bloody test realms..

Perhaps one of you Veteran mages could work out a nice PvP 1.11 mage build for me? I hear Frost Mages get some nice damage..
Remember, Solely PvP, no PvE AT ALL

elementalist is the way in 1.11 for pvp ( now to if u can play ) ... u can have rly nice combo of fire / frost...

and rly pvp mage build is a mater of taste :) but if u ask me this can be rly pain in pvp :)

I'd ditch the master of elements if you want a real pure pvp build though. Other alternatives much more pvp minded :)

But then I guess yours was somewhat pve minded as well :p

Well honestly not going elemental is missing out on the best "buff" we get in 1.11. But personal preference still gets you your personal best build. However I do not get why someboy would go in the arcane tree and not get clearcasting, which seems a bit more useful than magic absorption. Also I would've taken imp. coc when you have THAT much points in frost anyway, since it's cute aoe and the obvious pvp ability. Also frost warding meh, not my choice, but many do take it.

well :P i will say many talents in frost u use :P but not rly needed for pve :) elementalist i rly great fun and oportunity when something i frost or fire imun :) atm bevore 1.11 i play elementalist and have no problems whit mana in bwl and AQ40 to :)

Finally a +chance to hit talent, if there is one thing i don't like about the mage class on this moment it is resists.
I was having in AQ20 once on a boss 7 resists in a row.
someone whispered me once: "zomg easy Mitox or you will get aggro", while on my screen i just saw resist resist resist...

Or another classic example:
You gain blink
Blink fades from you
Your frostbolt got resisted by Hedrine slayer
Your cone of cold got resisted by hedrine slayer
Your frost nova got resisted by hedrine slayer
Hedrine slayer crits you for 3500
You die.

Most of the time i actualy hit things but a big chain of resists can really annoy me sometimes.
I know that there are +hit items but most gimp my stats.

I disagree, there are many nice items ingame that won't gimp you at all and still add +hit to your gear, ZG has a bunch.

I have +6% hit atm and I only get some resists at bosses, I couldnt care less about the precision talent tbh.
On a sidenote: for firemages I think -spellresist is better than +hit since firespells aren't binary, for frost +hit is probably better if you had to choose (shackles of the unscarred vs arcane accuracy for isntance).

My point was that there are enough good +hit items available ingame so you wont need the talents.

6% hit is always 6% hit, ie. over 6% extra damage on raid bosses. As such, your point sucks. You won't need it when you get 16% +hit on gear, and it's impossible for you to sacrifice any of that +hit for any other stat. And even then, 1 point in it will be useful.

On raid bosses that is true, but on lvl 62 mobs and lower you'd be throwing away talentpoints that arent really stacking anymore.

And with that in mind, I'd prefer more damage or critrate or whatever.

god who cares that on some silly trash mages hit all spels ITS A TRASH !!! ony think count is a boss battel ! and there u need ~15% hit ... Hit will alwyas be better as - resistance...

And Trupia just made my point. You're in a raiding guild, only thing that counts on raids is bossfights. Obviously PVP is another matter entirely however.

Raid bosses is where the damage counts, though.

...and as mage hit>crit. Also with the 50% crit damage boost your class has.
