I need some help with a build mainly for offtanking ZG. I would like to be able to solo a bit to grind rep and such so im thinking about going 31/0/20.

What do you guys think of this build:

Any input would be greatly appreciated :)

31/5/15 ftw

replace sord spec with your appropriate weapon spec if you dont use sords.

sword spec is very nice, i find it useful in tanking - extra attack = extra rage. mace or axe spec really won't help with tanking

I would probably take shield spec over anticipation with one point in imp shield block to double the number of blocks the skill is active for.

31/5/15 is still a great talent build, pretty good enough for offtanking and a still powerful in solo.

my nub warrior btw: http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?204273

Sword spec would most likely be optimal if ZG is what you primary do. Your weapons will probably be broodlord defender for the tanking and destroyer of worlds for dps. Both swords :)
Get the extra point in Imp Overpower. If you use 2handers its a must. Heck its even gold for dual wielders.
Imp Heroic Strike - I don't think you'll need this. Better used in Sword spec (or what 2hander you use)
You don't have to max out 2hand weapon spec. It aint _that_ great.

Khlystis build is solid. Anticipation is probably more for the big boss fights where crits and crushing blows can take you out. So if all you do is off tank in ZG shield spec might carry more value for you. Also take out Imp Hamstering and put them somewhere else if you don't pvp

Thanx for all the input. I've been thinking about it and this is what i ended up with:

http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/warrior/talents.html?0432501034201050010400000000000000050 050010500000000

I choose Shield Spec over Anticipation because +def items is pretty easy to get(have 340 now and rising fast).

I also sacrifice one %crit to get the last point in Defiance.

In the arms tree i sacrificed a point here and there to get 5 point sword spec. The one I'm most unsure about is the point in Anger Management. I figured this is mostly for soloing and that I can live without it. I also had to weigh Imp Overpower against Parry and 2h wep spec.

Im useing Bonechill Hammer(not very good I know) right now for tanking. It's hard to find a good attainable pre Zulian Defender sword, I'm considering getting a Hanzo Sword until I find something better.
I use a Runeblade of Baron Rivendare for grinding(got a bit lucky there, got it on my second Strat run^^) so I can get good use of the sword spec there.

I am an elitist pedant and I am here to tell you that Anticipation won't help you against crushing blows, but it's still better than Shield Spec for end-game tanking. Oh boy oh boy I've got a 5% chance of taking 10% less damage from a single hit.

Wuh? A crit will generate just as much rage as a regular hit + an extra attack.

Regarding that talent build, apart from ditching Shield Spec I suggest taking 1 point out of 2H spec and placing it in Imp. Overpower. Also use the point from Imp. Shield Block in Cruelty.

I think I'd like Shield Spec. More chance to spam Revenge without spending rage on ShieldBlock beforehand, + extra rage from blocking.

i always wondered why people want to spend 2 points in Improved Charge...

yes, that makes sense for PvP...

Well, there's something to be said for using a Charge Pull, but not often in much circumstances. ;/

hmmm /ponder..... true

what about attacking 63+ elites. if chance to crit is reduced due to the level difference but sword spec is still 5% chance of proc does that make sword spec better?

The chance to hit (with the extra attack) on Lvl 63 elites is reduced in a similar manner.

Go to Scholomance and either get Mirah's Song (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=18561) by doing the quests from the woman outside Caer Darrow or hope Gandling drops Silent Fang (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=19192).

For solo play you might wanna use a Barberous Blade (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=35869) until you get that monster from Hakkar.

Silent fang looks great. I'm raiding Scholo alot right now for the Deathbone set so I'm gonna hope this sword drops.

get them both :)

i use mirah's as my main tanking sword, lovely jubley with crusader on it.
silent fang is useful in dm west with those pesky undead spirits or any other casters but i like my mirah's, fast weapons ftw!

I'll see witch one I get first then :).

Another thing, how important do you guys think strength and agility is for tanking?

I'm trying to get some decent gear together but it's mostly ap, sta and def. Will I have trouble holding aggro if I don't have enought strength?

Mistoria

strength doesn't help hold aggro to a great extent, you only hit the mob harder. It does allow a greater amount of damage to be blocked with a shield so it does help in other ways.
agility increases your dodge/crit chance so again is beneficial in reducing the amount of damage you take and a crit will produce a bit more aggro than a normal hit.

If you have money to waste then invest in a full set of enchanted thorium gear, that's strength/stamina/defence, pretty much some of the best blues for a tank
