I was wondering if this is a good paladin build, or should i get rid of SoC and just put all those points in prot/holy? Since SoC got weaker, would Improved SoR be better since it now procs everytime?

(This is for a friend btw)

Ok fine then, yes it is for "me" i have a "secret" lvl 60 paladin. (I wish ¬_¬) Moving on, i'm just wondering is SoC really worth it since SoR got buffed.

And try this. (Its from the American site because the Euro site seems to be too lazy to update theirs)

Well what ive seen on the test server SoC is still better than SoR if you are using slow 2-handed weapons. But for shield + 1h SoR is better.

i know this is late but ohwell :P
why have u done imp blessing of might when u have BoK? that could spare 5 talent points :)

If you mean attack power wise:

imp BoM = 186 AP

BoK gives 10% more str, most pallies have about 230str which means you get 23 more str with BoK. And 23 str means 46 AP for pallies.

So 186 - 46 = 140

So imp. BoM is a "little" bit better AP-wise.

the calculations are correct but why has he spent 5 points in imp BoM if he uses BoK or vice versa

Well, BoK isn't that great for any class, but if you already have BoM o nyourself from another pally, its just nice to be able to buff yourself/somebody else with it.

I was also thinking is redoubt any good for PvE? I notice loads of pallies have it, but i could only see it helpful in PvP.

But also i noticed that many paladins are prot spec, yet they never tank in 50+ instances, i don't really see the point of this tbh, sure guardians favour and things like that are helpful, but wouldn't going deeper into the holy tree and slighty in prot/ret be better? (Or mostly into holy/prot only)

So imp. BoM is a "little" bit better AP-wise.
A little? Wouldn't 140 AP be about 3 dps more? (Depending on weapon speed i guess, i don't know much about weapon speed to attack power etc)

prot is nice , its not really for tanking but it has Reckoning / Toughness
/ Imp Bos / Shield Spec .

those i find good for pvp and pve.

hijacking the thread

How much Agility does a Paladin need to gain 1% crit at level 60?

Sentinals' Medallion (http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?i=40655) gave me an extra .75% chance to crit, so 20 sounds right.

hmm this tree realy sucks.A pala never gonna tank anything on game and nor is good for pvp..(for pvp retra and holy rock).Btw i really didnt understand:If he becomes prot palla why left divine strength out from holy tree..and deflection from retra tree? 5% more parry cba.and i am wondering why not reckoning, redoupt and shield specialization....phewwwwww...

for raid in bwl holy pala is more need. And i will agree with seth:best tree is 31/0/20
and i am w8ing for him to be back soon couse i have 29/11/11.(yes i love soc, especially the judgment of soc ,but need to have bok for raid...:( )

Bump instead of making a new topic.

I'm making this with PvE in mind, and was wondering is improved SoR worth it or would the points be better else where? Same with lasting judgement, i can see how it would be helpful iin boss fights but, again, are the points better elsewhere? (such as into divine strength)

it really depends on the weapon you will use, and wether you plan on do a lot of things solo or not...

If you are using a fast weapon, use SoR, and you can put the points in improved SoR, though the damage increase isn't really high: 20.5 to 71.4 damage from SoR= 23.575 to 82.11 with improved SoR, and that for 5 talent points.
If you're planning on solo-ing a lot (have no clue wether that's even a word), put those points in anticipation or other usefull things...

If you're going to use a slow 2-hander, you really want to get SoC for solo-ing.

If you're planning to do nothing besides raiding etc, you might want to get rid of divine strength and improved SoR, and get improved BoM and some in precision (the more you hit, the more mana you'll regenerate from JoW)

Lasting judgement can be really usefull imho, then again, I never got past ZG so far

Just my 2 cents :) don't have any experience with instances after ZG, so you might want to get more oppinions :)
